This course is intended for those interested in wine in Carinthia. In a compact and very practice-oriented way, you will very quickly become a hobby wine expert. Exclusive excursions to Carinthian wineries offer insights into regional viticulture and its historical significance. The course comprises 6 modules, ranging from the planning and care of the vineyard to the selection of suitable grape varieties and the control of diseases and pests to wine production. Wine sensory analysis is of course included, and you will learn to taste and describe wine with the sensory analysis kit. 1st semester - book here Module 1: Grape harvest and wine production, 4.10.2024: 1-6 pm at Cafe Fürstlich in the Carinthian State Museum, Museumsgasse 2, 9020 Klagenfurt and 5.10.2024, 10 am - 4 pm - Taggenbrunn Winery Module 2: Hygiene in the wine cellar: 15.11.2024: 1-6pm: Wernberg Monastery and 16.11.2024: 10am-4pm at the Carinthian State Winery, St. Andrä Module 3: Wine sensory analysis: 13.12.2024: 1-6 p.m. at Wernberg Monastery and 14.12.2024 at Karnburg Winery 2nd semester - bookable via 25F0131032 Module 4: Pruning, 7.3.2025: 1-6 pm at the Taggenbrunn winery and 8.3.2025, 10 am - 4 pm - Stadtweingarten Klagenfurt (morning 10 am - 1 pm Bahnhofstrasse 44, 9020 Klagenfurt) Module 5: Vineyard, location and pests: 25.4.2025: 1-6pm: Wernberg Monastery and 26.04.2025: 10am-4pm at the Egger winery - organic viticulture, Sternberg Module 6: Wine varieties and origin: 23.05.2025: 1-6 pm at Wernberg Monastery and 24.05.2025 at the GrafenBERGERin, winery at 800 m above sea level The modules can be booked individually. Upon completion of all modules, a course certificate will be issued after a final interview. A discount is included when booking the modules of a semester. Course bookers are given preference for places in the modules (fixed place). The Carinthian Winegrowers' Association and the Carinthian adult education centers offer the course as a cooperation and are your competent partners for hobby viticulture.
