Every NIA session lives from the unique music (from classical to hip-hop, house, indie,... to electronic) and its rhythm! NIA is physical and mental fitness training at the same time and is danced barefoot. The dance step sequences, mainly from jazz and modern dance, are combined with elements from martial arts (Tai Chi, Aikido, Taekwondo) and yoga increase coordination and improve posture. The abbreviation itself stands for "neuromuscular integrative action", i.e. NIA promotes a functioning interplay between muscles and the nervous system. The 52 movements in NIA support mobility in the 13 main joints (ankles, knees, hips, spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists). The alternation between yin and yang elements promotes physical and mental balance, which carries over into everyday life. There are three intensity levels that can be individually adjusted. It is also possible to start without any previous knowledge.
