Orientation in alpine terrain

for mountain hikers, snowshoe hikers, winter hikers and ski tourers

Our "Orientation in alpine terrain" course provides essential knowledge for safe hiking, snowshoeing, winter hiking and ski touring. It is aimed at beginners and advanced hikers who want to improve their orienteering skills or who want to travel independently without a guide. The 2-day course combines theory with practical hikes and is also ideal preparation for prospective mountain guides.

The course focuses on the use of topographical maps, compasses, GPS and natural orientation aids. You will learn how to orient yourself safely in alpine terrain and plan tours independently. The course is offered in small groups and is the ideal preparation for further training programs.

Prerequisites
- Motivation, thirst for knowledge and willingness to absorb two intensive course days
- Basic fitness for hikes with an ascent of up to approx. 600 vertical meters in approx. 2 hours
- Sure-footedness on hiking trails in the red category
- Young people under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult actively participating in the course
- Equipment according to the "Mountain hike - day tour" equipment list

€ 250 for 4 to 6 participants
€ 320,- for 3 participants

The meeting point will be announced by email before the start of the course

Bad weather:
The course will take place in light rain. In heavy weather, an alternative date will be announced.
