The food requirements of the individual bird species are as colorful as the bird world itself. Especially in fall and winter, feeders are visited by thick-billed birds, while in spring and summer, birds with tweezer-like beaks can be observed eagerly collecting insects. What is the connection between the shape of birds' beaks and their feeding habits? Which species can be observed at the bird feeder? In this course, experts from BirdLife Austria will give you tips and tricks for bird identification and introduce you to the most common garden birds of the winter months! This course is particularly suitable for beginners! Procedure: The course consists of a 70-minute lecture and a 3-hour excursion. Lecture, Friday, January 17, 2025, 18:00 and excursion, Saturday, January 18, 2025, 08:00 - 11:00, meeting point: St. Veit, exact location will be announced during the lecture the day before. Please also note the other courses: the cooperation between the Austrian Adult Education Centers and BirdLife Austria includes a total of four courses, which invite you to get a taste of the world of birds!
